         UAE rebar traders to optimise inventory levels

         The United Arab Emirates rebar traders experienced a 15-20% monthly decline in rebar sales volumes in March, amid Ramadan and the Eid Al Fitr holiday, leading to increased inventory levels and a focus on optimising stocks.
         Kallanish（开阑商务信息咨询）获悉，上周末，基准钢厂开启现货销售，使其分销商在扣除所有谅解备忘录折扣和回扣后，4月螺纹钢平均采购价格降至接近2,400迪拉姆/吨（653美元/吨），但这并没有吸引所有螺纹钢经销商预订更多数量。
         Towards the end of last week, the benchmark mill offered spot sales enabling its distributors to lower their average rebar purchase prices in April close to AED 2,400/tonne ($653/t) delivered after deducting all MoU discounts and rebates. However, this did not attract all rebar distributors to book additional quantities, Kallanish notes.

         On April 7, the rebar market became fully operational, and retail quotes remain the same as last week, averaging AED 2,440- 2,450/t for the benchmark mill material and AED 2,320- 2,330/t for secondary mills rebar on a credit and delivered basis.
         承包商当天的螺纹钢承购情况良好，促使贸易商维持目前的零售价格。
         Rebar offtake by the contractors has been promising during the day, encouraging traders to maintain current retail prices.
         6月发货的中国SAE1006/1008 6.5-11毫米盘条报价约为520美元/吨cfr杰贝阿里（不含5%进口税）。3月当地盘条成交价平均为570-580美元/吨交货价，90天信用证付款。
         Ex-China SAE1006/1008 6.5-11mm wire rod offers heard at around $520/t cfr Jebel Ali, excluding 5% import duty, for June shipment. In March local wire rod deals concluded at an average of $570-580/t delivered against LC 90 days.
         一位消息人士说：“4月23日，也就是仅两周后，基准钢厂将公布5月螺纹钢价格，因此贸易商希望减少4月螺纹钢采购量。斋月期间销售量减少15-20%，因此上个月有结转，加上开斋节假期，4月少了一周。”

         "On the 23rd of April, only two weeks later, the May rebar prices are expected to be announced by the benchmark mill, so traders are looking for less rebar purchases in April as there is a carryover from the previous month due to 15-20% lowers sales during Ramadan and missing one week of April due to the Eid Al Fitr holiday.", comments a reputable source.
